Well isn’t this a turnout for the books? I had it all worked out what I was going to write about weeks ago in this ‘edition’- how much we had enjoyed Harry Potter world, what I was looking forward to going into the Easter Holidays and the plans we had. Then wham bammmm COVID19 hit.
Everything that needs to be said has been said already, and I’m not going to bore you with platitudes.
So in the spirit of some normality and continuation here’s what I’ve been:
Listening to:
Lyric FM https://www.rte.ie/lyricfm/ (turning off the news bulletins) and streaming Classic FM Chillout https://www.classic.nl/ They both just take the edge off.
Breathing:
Often in times of stress I like many others hold my breath. I’ve been very conscious of making sure I’m breathing deeply and through my nose. Nasal breathing increases your immune response. So breathe people.
Stretching:
Finding it hard to motivate myself to work out, but I have been doing some gentle stretching sessions to help with the tension and counteract the postures from sitting at the computer for far longer than I usually do.
Teaching:
In the loosest possible fashion. I’ve been actually enjoying the remote learning we’ve been doing. It gives structure and purpose to our day.
Keeping structure:
In this new normal we’ve been getting up and going to bed at the same time as usual. No PJ days here, getting up and dressed even dare I say putting some makeup on (me not Richard)? There is a routine to the day that I try to keep, the kids like routine, I like routine.
Posting:
We’ve been busy posting videos and tips on health and wellness. Please share them with whomever you think might benefit.
Please keep in contact with us, interact with us on social media, send us emails, let us know how you are getting on, we are all in this together (a platitude I know).
With love
Dr E
